Kadena / Sukiran Elementary Schools


If memory serves me correct, Kadena Elementary and Sukiran/Zukeran Elementary were near carbon-copies of each other...design & construction-wise...

Here are two photos from the Sept 1960 issue of This Month on Okinawa. One is Kadena and the other is Sukiran, but they did not identify which was which. They do look similar.

In looking at the pic of all three school campuses, they were all near-clones of each other.

The auditorium/cafeteria buildings, as well as the classroom wings were of identical design & construction...

If you look at the housing ares around the schools I think the first one was Sukiran Elementary. I think that is the Kishaba Housing Area. I don't remember the dangerous looking drop off in the other photo - or am I seeing things?
