Okinawa video - 1950's & 1960's photos

Here is a little video I put together with photos and postcards on Okinawa from the 50's and 60's. It might bring back some memories.

I also have another video called "Road to Naminoue" on there as well.

Very nice video - no real memories here, but, nice to see the way it was, anyway!

Someone on facebook asked about "The Road to Naminoue. Thanks for the link, I'm adding to this thread, so facebook share works with our facebook page!

Ronnie Fray is a friend of mine, he and his group use to record at my brother's recording studio in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

That's the tune for which I've been looking for 35 years. Thank you.
Have you heard "Okinawa Song - Chin Nuku Juushii" by Ryuichi Sakamoto?

I was stationed at Kadena AB from 63 to 67. When I lived off base it was in Chatan, on the ocean, just south of Hamby Airfield. I believe that where we lived has now been torn down and rebuilt.

Sorry, I dont know the song, but I dont follow much Okinawan music after the 70's. I did find it on the web and listened to it, it was pretty good.
